BORN FROM A BOXING COACH'S REAL NEED

In 2017, we received a special custom request from a professional boxing coach.

With 12 years of industry experience and 3 chain martial arts gyms under his belt, this coach had gone through no fewer than 20 training timers, yet never found one that fully fit the daily training needs of a boxing gym. He told us that timers on the market always fell into two frustrating extremes: either they were lightweight home fitness models with rigid round settings, unable to adapt to the different rules of boxing, MMA, and Muay Thai, and would fail within 2-3 months of heavy daily use; or they were top-tier professional event equipment, exorbitantly priced and overly complicated to operate, completely unsuitable for the flexible, high-frequency use of daily group classes and personal training.

What frustrated him most were the real-world pain points of training: in a gym filled with the thud of punching bags, shouts of students, and overlapping noise, the alert tone of ordinary timers was barely audible. And with thick boxing gloves, tiny buttons were impossible to press accurately, constantly disrupting training rhythm.

This request struck a chord with us, a team of martial arts enthusiasts who had long shared this frustration. For years, we'd been manufacturing timing devices, but like most manufacturers in the industry, we'd only focused on the basic function of "telling time," ignoring the most genuine, urgent needs of martial arts training. We didn't want to make another cold device that just displayed time-we wanted to build a professional timer that truly understood boxing gyms and athletes.

We took on this custom project, and embarked on a 6-month journey of relentless refinement.

For our first prototype, we copied the full feature set of event-grade timers, only to find the parameter settings were far too complex for coaches to adjust mid-class. For the second, we simplified the operation logic and added large adjustment knobs, but still couldn't solve the problem of low alert tone recognition in noisy environments. It wasn't until the third iteration that we locked in our core design philosophy: every function, built exclusively for martial arts training scenarios.

To enable glove-friendly, barrier-free operation, we abandoned a full-button design, opting for large, non-slip, damping knobs paired with wide, raised physical buttons-even with 16OZ heavy boxing gloves, users can operate it one-handed, blind. To ensure the alert tone is heard in every corner of the gym, we custom-built a high-power, wide-frequency speaker tuned to avoid ambient noise frequencies, with a maximum volume of 110dB that's clear without being harsh. To adapt to diverse training needs, we pre-set classic rule modes for boxing and MMA, while retaining fully customizable round, work, and rest duration settings, perfect for both professional fight preparation and beginner group classes. We also added a large, high-brightness LED display visible from 10 meters away, and an industrial-grade durable body built to withstand 8 hours of continuous daily operation.

The final custom unit completed 6 months of field testing in the coach's gym, running flawlessly through heavy daily use, and he called it "the timer that truly understands boxing gyms." Soon, professional athletes training there and fellow gym owners from surrounding areas began inquiring about it, and we realized this wasn't just one person's pain point-it was a universal need across the entire martial arts training industry.

So, we refined this heartfelt custom request into the mass-produced CP20A Classic Boxing Timer. From a single gym's custom need to a classic model in thousands of martial arts gyms worldwide, accompanying hundreds of thousands of athletes, we've never forgotten our original mission: to build a timer born exclusively for martial arts training-no frills, no bloat, just maximum professionalism, durability, and usability, to help you nail every single round.
